Montpelier Jungle Outpost sits on a large estate rich in history. In the 18th century, this location was used as a sugarcane plantation by the British. Today, the property is home to orange orchards, small picturesque bridges and an old sugar factory built in the early 1700s. A short hike on the estate will reveal the wonderful Montpelier waterfall and the beautiful Great River, Jamaica’s fourth longest river. From this estate, you can get a bird’s eye view from the treetops as you zipline through the jungle or river tube or kayak down the river that separates the two parishes of St. James and Hanover.
